It's a Very Arty Christmas

For some it may look very different this year and others, the tradition may continue. There is one new tradition however we can all take part in this Christmas, and that is a little Art Therapy.
I read a story about a Small Village in the USA, not unlike Singleton. Each Halloween, they have the local Children decorate the shop windows with paintings. This ignited an idea to use our long glass walkway on our building in Bourke’s Arcade to start a similar tradition. A quick chat to our beautiful Neighbours and our inaugural Very Arty Christmas was underway with brilliant enthusiasm.
Community Spirit is always important, and this year has clarified for me just how important it is to be there for each other. We invite you to become a part of our Community this Christmas and pick up your complimentary Art Pack from each of our Arcade Businesses and create something special to you.
We have some fabulous prizes for our Community Choice Awards and the overall Age Category Winners. Community Choice will be judged by you and Amy O’Donnell will oversee judging of the overall age category prizes.
More importantly, we hope it brings us together for the sole purpose of creating a strong spirit of support for each other and our wonderful town.
We can all be a part of the fun. Collect your starter pack which includes a large canvas, 3 sets of paints and 3 brushes. We have some of our artists getting creative with multi media and others with drawing. You can be individual or a group effort. We really don’t mind as long as you’re kind 😊
Drop your masterpiece back in and our resident all rounder Tony will hang them each Saturday for our locals to slow down and begin admiring. They will be hung in age groups and numbered, rather than names to respect your privacy. The categories are:
- Infants
- Primary
- High School
- Adult
