To all the special women in our lives, we say thank you!

Today we celebrate one of the most important days of the year – Mother’s Day. Not only will we celebrate our Mums, but we will celebrate all the important women in our lives be them Aunts, sisters, Grandma/Nan and friends. We also celebrate those who are longing to be Mum’s, Mothers who have lost children, those who have lost Mothers and those with strained Mother or child relationship.

What do you love most about your Mum and your relationship?
My number one thing I love about my relationship with my Mum is our closeness. I love everything about my Mum. She is open, honest, humble and the strongest person I know. I will always appreciate the bond between my Mum and me. My entire life I have known how special this bond is and I truly treasure it!

How will you be spending Mother’s Day this year?
This year we will be spending Mother’s Day together celebrating Mum. It will be a relaxed day filled with things that Mum loves.

What is something you have learnt from your Mum?
One of the biggest things I have learnt from my Mum is how to treat people with kindness and love. Mum is kind to everyone and has always taught us that showing kindness is free.

What do you love most about your Mum and your relationship?
Mum and I can chat about anything and for hours. We always have something to catch up on and she will always listen.

How will you be spending Mother’s Day this year?
This year will be my first Mother’s Day so it will be super special this year. It’s also going to be my little nephew’s first birthday, so we have lots to celebrate. We’ll be catching up for Charlie’s birthday and all spending time together. And getting lots of cuddles from my little girl.

What is something you have learnt from your Mum?
It’s not about how much money you have, or the material items in your house, the importance is always the love that fills the rooms.

What do you love most about your Mum and your relationship?
Over the years, Mum has shifted from being more of an authority figure to being a friend. She is someone that I can count on and will always listen to any tangent I might run away on. I like that no matter the distance between us, she’s always available for a quick chat or advice, and maybe a gin or two.

How will you be spending Mother’s Day this year?
Like most years, our Mother’s Day celebration is low fuss, as Mum hates being the centre of attention. Nevertheless, flowers, a sweet treat and spoiling her a little bit is always our goal.

What is something you have learnt from your mum?
It is hard to narrow down on one thing because she has taught me so much. Probably the thing I am most grateful for, though, is that she has taught me the importance of perseverance, even when things get tough. Most importantly, she has taught me this by showing me how to be a strong woman, not just telling me. That is just one of many qualities I admire and try to embody in myself.

Let’s all spoil the incredible Mothers around us and give them the celebration they so greatly deserve. On that note, we give a big virtual hug to all the amazing Mother’s in the world and say thank you for all that you do!
